What is trending for 2019 in kitchens?
As mentioned in our previous post, Quartz countertops are a top pick. Not only is quartz very durable, it is also offered in many different shades and patterns similar to granite and marble so you can achieve the same look without having the long term maintenance that granite and marble require. While white remains the #1 quartz choice for many homeowners, don’t be afraid to use color or even a subtle pattern, especially if your home has a contemporary or modern style.
Using a fun tile in your kitchen can be another great way to add color or pattern. Whether used as a floor tile or as a backsplash, a colored and/or patterned tile can add a lot of personality to your kitchen. If you use a strong pattern on your floor, choose a simple backsplash tile or vice versa. Too much color/pattern can be just that… too much. Balance is key!
If your cabinets are still dark, you should consider lightening them up. White kitchens have been all the rage over the past several years and if white is just not your style or you’d prefer something a little warmer, painting your cabinets a lighter shade will help brighten your kitchen and will make it feel new again. Don’t be afraid to use color on your cabinets.
